See progress of Baylor's McLane Stadium

By Dave Wilson

On Wednesday, Baylor hosted a media tour to show the progress of McLane Stadium, the Bears' $266 million, 45,140-seat stadium that is opening in August.

The Big 12 blog was on the scene to take a look around.

First, a panorama from inside the stadium (with admittedly shaky hand-held results; the real thing is much straighter):

Baylor's new scoreboard, which will rank among the country's best, is already in place.

The locker room, a long, open room seen from the middle to one end, is about 95 percent complete.

The 93-acre site features lighted tailgating areas with power outlets.

As far as the site's most unique feature, there hasn't been much headway on the "sailgating" spots, where fans will be able to dock their boat along the Brazos River. Project managers said there will be 16 boat slips created, along with a boardwalk along the lagoon. They'll be among the last features installed before the Aug. 31 game against SMU.
