STILLWATER, Okla. -- It looks like most of the fans who will be part of the record crowd tonight at Boone Pickens Stadium heeded the warnings of arriving in Stillwater early.
I got here about 4 1/2 hours before kickoff and the area around the stadium was buzzing. It was the liveliest I've seen Stillwater in the time I've been covering the Big 12.
Fans were tailgating and enjoying the weather, which peaked into the low 70s earlier this afternoon with humidity at only 30 percent.
As we get ready for kickoff, there's hardly a cloud in the sky. Temperatures should drop into the low-50s as the game continues.
But you couldn't ask for a better night to watch or play football.
