Kansas State and Tennessee Tech have matched first-quarter touchdowns in very different ways at Manhattan.
The Wildcats mashed the ball down Tennessee Tech's on their first drive, utilizing 13 running plays in a 16-play march that consumed more than 7 minutes. It was a brilliant way to take the early pressure from quarterback Carson Coffman, who completed all three of his passes.
But Tennessee Tech doesn't look intimidated. Coach Watson Brown's team overcame two third-and-long plays on the scoring drive before scoring on a beautifully executed fourth-and-1 touchdown pass.
