Syracuse will play three games in the new Giants/Jets football stadium at the Meadowlands beginning in 2012, Donnie Webb reports in the Syracuse Post-Standard.

A press conference to announce the games will be held Tuesday morning, Webb reports.

The Orange will play the USC in 2012 and Notre Dame in 2014 and 2016 in the new stadium. The USC game was previously scheduled for the Carrier Dome, while the two Notre Dame games will serve as Syracuse's home dates in a new, four-year series.

Of course, the Meadowlands -- located in East Rutherford, N.J. -- is right in Rutgers' backyard, and both schools are battling for New York area recruits. Now Syracuse is coming to New Jersey to play two extremely high-profile opponents. Wonder what the Scarlet Knights think about that?

Rutgers previously announced plans to play Army in Yankee Stadium. Connecticut was in talks with Notre Dame to play in the Meadowlands and in Foxboro, Mass., but that deal has since stalled.
