Rutgers is close to a deal that would move next year's Army game to the new Meadowlands stadium, which could net the school millions, Tom Luicci reports in The Star-Ledger.

• Despite losing three stars in Mike Mickens, DeAngelo Smith and Brandon Underwood, the Cincinnati secondary is still in good hands and may actually be deeper, Bill Koch writes in the Cincinnati Enquirer.

• Jonathan Baldwin went to work in the offseason and has been a star at Pitt training camp so far, Paul Zeise writes in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

• Geno Smith is healed from his foot injury and looks like he'll be the No. 2 quarterback at West Virginia, Dave Hickman reports in the Charleston Gazette.

• Running backs performed well at a South Florida scrimmage, Greg Auman notes in the St, Petersburg Times.

• Louisville wide receiver Josh Chichester is focusing on avoiding the dropsies this year, C.L. Brown writes in The Courier-Journal.
