West Virginia adds special teams coach

West Virginia has hired Daron Roberts as its special teams coach, according to ESPN.com's Bruce Feldman.

Roberts was the Detroit Lions' assistant secondary coach last year (here's a link to his bio). He spent two years with the Lions, and before that worked with the Kansas City Chiefs for two years. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach at a Kansas City high school.

Roberts will replace Lonnie Galloway on the Mountaineers staff. Galloway, who was the receivers coach, left for Wake Forest earlier this month. Offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen and assistant Shannon Dawson will split responsibilities for coaching the receivers as Roberts takes over the special teams.
