South Florida released its depth chart for Saturday's game against Wofford, and there are some interesting names in key places.

Two true freshmen -- receiver Sterling Griffin and cornerback Kayvon Webster -- are listed as starters. Griffin beat out such veterans as A.J. Love and Ed Alcin for a starting spot, though all will get time in the Bulls' multiple-receiver sets.

Webster has apparently impressed enough that coach Jim Leavitt feels comfortable moving senior Jerome Murphy around. Murphy, who has All-Big East ability, is listed as the starting nickel back but could also play corner or strong safety.

On the offensive line, sophomore Jeremiah Warren is listed ahead of junior-college transfer Jamar Bass, who was the presumed starter at left tackle. And Jake Sims, who was battling for the starting job at both center and right tackle, is now listed as No. 2 at right tackle behind Mark Popek, in no small part due to a neck strain that slowed Sims all camp.

Another notable listing sees junior college transfer David Bedford atop the chart at left defensive end, opposite George Selvie. Bedford did not receive nearly as much hype as fellow juco import Jason Pierre-Paul, who arrived late to camp and is listed as the No. 2 left end.

Senior Mo Plancher is the starter at running back, but true freshman Lindsey Lamar is right behind him after a big camp.

In all, the Bulls have seven true freshmen or junior-college transfers in the two deep right now. That tells you that this is a team that might need time to grow -- and starting the year with Wofford, Western Kentucky and Charleston Southern should offer that opportunity.
