One of the first questions I was asked when I took over this blog was from somebody on Twitter with the handle @WVMule. He asked whether Mountaineer Nation would have Rich Rodriguez back.
In all honesty, I do not know that answer. So I am having you, the West Virginia fans, tell me. How do you feel about your former coach now that he is a few months removed from his disastrous run at Michigan? Has he been forgiven? Will he ever be forgiven?
From my vantage point on a national level, it seems as though the hard feelings remain after the messy way he left. Add to that an NCAA investigation for potential violations under his watch, and I am more inclined to believe that there is no way he would be completely forgiven.
Some of you may be wondering why I would have the nerve to ask this question now. Well, Rodriguez was at a charity golf tournament for Glenville State late last month, and disclosed that he had spoken to new offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen a few times. He also said he has been treated well in his home state. I am just curious to see what the fans think of him, now that it has been three and a half years since he left.
Rodriguez accomplished so much at West Virginia. But are fans grateful for that time or still bitter? Be sure to vote in my poll, leave some comments and we can discuss further in a follow-up post next week.
