Six players left in our countdown of the Top 25 players in the Big East. We make the big reveal next Monday.
No. 6 Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia
Austin is ranked pretty high on the list for somebody who had 58 catches for 787 yards and eight touchdowns last season. But we are projecting the Top 25 players of this season, and Austin is lined up to have a 1,000-yard season in the new offense Dana Holgorsen is bringing to Morgantown. In stops at Texas Tech, Houston and Oklahoma State, Holgorsen has had featured 1,000-yard receivers.
Austin is smaller than Justin Blackmon, who dominated at Oklahoma State last season, but he has the speed, quickness and chemistry with Geno Smith to be able to make the game-breaking catches in this offense. "I know what I've got to do, and I know what Coach Holgorsen expects out of me," Austin says. "I'm comfortable in the offense now. If everybody does their part, we should be all right and come out on top."
