Was South Florida-Kansas the game of the year in college football so far? If not, what's been better?

Only two Big East teams are in action today, Syracuse and Connecticut. Here are a couple of links to get you ready for those games:

  • UConn's sophomore linebacker trio of Scott Lutrus, Greg Lloyd Jr. and Lawrence Wilson is a big reason why the Huskies haven't given up a touchdown yet, Neill Ostrout writes in the Connecticut Post.
  • The Huskies couldn't get it done last year against Virginia but need to take care of business against a much less talented and experienced Cavaliers team, Chip Malafronte says in the New Haven Register.
  • Bud Poliquin of the Syracuse Post-Standard writes that the Orange will certainly get crushed by Penn State to fall to 0-3 for the second-straight year. "Those who think the Orange will win today," he writes, "are asked to take their medication and lie down for a few hours."
  • Donnie Webb says the Orange are holding out hope for an upset, harkening back to last year's win at Louisville when the team was a 37-point underdog. With respect, I covered that Louisville team last year, and those Cardinals are nowhere near as good as these Nittany Lions.
