Wildly different types of games in the three Big East noon kickoffs.
Pittsburgh finds itself in a shootout at Buffalo, leading 34-20 at the half. Bill Stull may be on his way to a career day, already with three touchdown passes and another one on the ground. Will this silence his many critics? As long as Pitt wins -- and its defense needs to toughen up against the pass -- Stull should be fine for at least a week.
UConn held North Carolina to 65 total yards in the first half, completely shutting down the Tar Heels' running game. Dave Teggart's field goal at the end of the half made it 3-0.
And Syracuse is hanging tough at Penn State, trailing only 14-0 at the break. But Penn State has dominated field position and has stifled the Orange offense. Doug Marrone brought in Ryan Nassib for a few plays at quarterback, apparently trying to light a fire. The Orange need to get something going in the second half to make this more interesting.
