The Big East remained at No. 7 in the latest ESPN Stats & Information conference power rankings, but it has nearly closed the gap on the Mountain West.
This week, the Big East is 0.4 points behind the MWC based on a formula the group uses that takes into account polls and computer rankings. What was most interesting about these rankings was seeing the Big East with a computer rank of 5 -- ahead of the Pac-12, which sits in fourth place in the conference power rankings.
Having one ranked team outside the Top 10 in the AP poll is hurting the Big East in this compilation. Tune in next week to see if anything changes.
