West Virginia coach Bill Stewart was feeling better today about injuries to star defensive players Reed Williams and Scooter Berry after each visited with the training staff.

Berry, a defensive lineman, hurt his shoulder, while Williams, a linebacker, suffered an injured foot in the 35-20 win over East Carolina.

"I’m more on the sunny-side than I was last night," Stewart said. "It was a little bleaker yesterday, and this morning they were in for treatment. We’ll know more this evening when we practice. I was told it was better and day-to-day. That was good to hear."

West Virginia will need both players for this week's game at Auburn, which has been scoring a lot of points under first-year coach Gene Chizik.
