LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville should be up 21-7, but Josh Chichester couldn't handle two sure touchdown throws in the final seconds. Then Chris Philpott missed a chip shot field goal.

Still, the Cardinals dominated the second quarter, offensively and defensively. Hunter Cantwell (14-for-19, 159 yards) is abusing Kansas State's man-to-man coverage, and offensive coordinator Jeff Brohm has made up for a shaky performance against Kentucky by calling a great game so far. Chichester and running back Victor Anderson have each made big plays so far. Anderson is averaging 15 yards on his three carries, while Chichester has four catches for 55 yards and a score despite those drops.

The defense, meanwhile, has gotten pressure on Josh Freeman, which has helped lead to a pair of interceptions by Woodny Turenne. Freeman threw for only 28 yards in the second quarter. Kansas State has had no running game to speak of, and Louisville has stopped biting on play action.

This isn't Montana State. The Wildcats need to make some serious adjustments at halftime.
