LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- I did some investigating, and it turns out this is, in fact, the same Louisville team that couldn't score an offensive point against Kentucky opening week.

Kentucky's defense must be really good. Or Kansas State's must be really bad. Or maybe Louisville has just gotten a lot better in a short period of time.

Whatever the case, the Cardinals were awfully impressive tonight in scoring 38 points against Kansas State. The Big East has a new star in redshirt freshman Victor Anderson, who carried 18 times for 176 yards and scored three touchdowns. Hunter Cantwell won the battle of pro-prospect quarterbacks, throwing for 274 yards and two touchdowns and firing some passes that had NFL written all over them.

So we came looking for answers tonight on these two teams. What we learned is that Louisville is improving dramatically, while Kansas State still needs a lot of work, particularly on the defensive end. If the Cardinals can rack up this kind of point total, what will the Wildcats be able to do against Texas Tech, Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri?

Check back in a little bit for more posts from tonight's game.
