The Big East remained in seventh place in the newest conference power rankings from ESPN Stats & Information, right behind the Mountain West and just ahead of Conference USA.

Its lead over Conference USA actually shrunk, in part because that league has one team ranked higher in the AP Top 25 in No. 14 Houston. The Big East's highest ranked team in the AP poll is No. 23 Cincinnati. The league is now only 1.1 points ahead of C-USA, and way behind the Mountain West -- greatly benefiting from No. 5 Boise State.

The Big East has an overall AP rank of 8, and computer rank of 6. Both are worst among all AQ conferences.
