Final notes: West Virginia-Cincinnati

CINCINNATI -- Here are a few final notes before West Virginia and Cincinnati kick off at Paul Brown Stadium.

  • Cincinnati is wearing all red uniforms for the first time since the 1993 season. I like the look with the black helmets. Very sharp. West Virginia is going with all white.

  • Here is how Isaiah Pead has done in two previous games at Paul Brown Stadium: He had 153 yards on 20 carries against Louisville earlier this year; and 169 yards on 21 carries against Oklahoma in 2010.

  • Cincinnati quarterback Zach Collaros needs 34 completions to become the second quarterback in school history to accumulate 5,000 yards passing, 500 completions and 50 touchdowns.

  • West Virginia has not finished lower than second place in the Big East since 2002. The Mountaineers have gone 5-2 or better in league play during that timeframe.

  • The only time the Mountaineers have lost to the Bearcats in Cincinnati was 2009.

  • Quarterback Geno Smith has thrown a touchdown pass in 12 straight games.
