Connecticut quarterback Cody Endres and defensive end Lindsey Witten returned to practice this week despite battling a stomach virus, and both should be fine for Saturday's game at Baylor, head coach Randy Edsall said Thursday.
Endres will start in place of Zach Frazer, who suffered a knee injury in last week's loss to North Carolina. He played in five games last year, throwing three interceptions and no touchdowns, but he was the starter as UConn beat eventual Big East champion Cincinnati.
Witten leads the nation in sacks with 3.5 per game.
Edsall also said that receiver Michael Smith will miss the Baylor game with a knee injury, while linebacker Scott Lutrus will be a game-time decision.
