Collaros could play in bowl game

Cincinnati is holding out hope that starting quarterback Zach Collaros will be able to play in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl against Vanderbilt later this month.

Coach Butch Jones said at his weekly press conference Tuesday that Collaros was two weeks ahead of schedule on rehab of his broken ankle. Jones said Collaros might be able to resume throwing during practice next week.

The bowl game is set for Dec. 31.
