What was impressive about Connecticut's 30-22 win at Baylor was not just that the Huskies went on the road to a good Big 12 team and got the job done. They also got their offense going, and they showed good character in rebounding from last week's heartbreaking home loss to North Carolina.
A 1-2 start would have been tough to overcome, so this was a much-needed win. Quarterback Cody Endres played well early and finished 12 of 23 for 147 yards. Most importantly, though, he didn't throw any interceptions, which had plagued the injured Zach Frazer. Don't be surprised if Endres keeps this job for a while.
UConn went back to basics with its running game, and for the second time this season, had a pair of 100-yard rushers. Andre Dixon led the way with 149 yards and three touchdowns in his best game since 2007. Jordan Todman added 103 yards on the ground.
The UConn defense also did an excellent job of containing Robert Griffin, Baylor's electric quarterback. All in all, a very encouraging day for the Huskies.
