Week after week, the ESPN Stats & Information conference power rankings were a sore subject among Big East fans.
You had to suffer through seeing the league ranked behind the Mountain West, the ACC and Conference USA. I shielded your eyes toward the end of the season, because seeing the same ranking over and over was just too much to bear.
But today, I deliver you some welcome news.
The final conference power rankings are in. And yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. ... Er, yes, Virginia, the Big East is better than the ACC. But you didn't need these rankings to tell you that. All you needed were two eyeballs and a TV set tuned to the Discover Orange Bowl.
The Big East finishes at No. 6, behind the Mountain West but ahead of the ACC and C-USA. But, really, the only thing that matters is the Big East is better than the ACC. Well, that's not the only thing that matters. My ACC pal, Heather Dinich, has conceded to this here Big East blogger.
Victory is mine. And yours.
