Cincinnati will play Toledo in a home-and-home football series beginning next season, with the Bearcats traveling to play at the Glass Bowl on Oct. 20.
Toledo will play at Cincinnati on Sept. 13, 2014, in Nippert Stadium.
The two schools have met six times before, with Cincinnati holding a 4-2 advantage in the series. The last meeting was at the 2001 Motor City Bowl, with Toledo winning 23-16.
Toledo finished 9-4 this season and won its bowl game. The Rockets have a new head coach in Matt Campbell.
Cincinnati had several openings in its nonconference schedule after a game with Ohio State was postponed and TCU left for the Big 12. A game against San Diego State was previously moved to 2016 -- though that would be a conference game now.
The Bearcats still have to fill one more slot for a 2012 nonconference game. Virginia Tech and Miami (Ohio) are already on the schedule for 2012. If West Virginia is able to leave for the Big 12, that would create yet another opening.
