Temple athletic director Bill Bradshaw has been named one of five finalists in the athletic director of the year category for the 2012 Sports Business Awards.
The Awards, presented by Street & Smith’s SportsBusiness Journal and SportsBusiness Daily, recognize outstanding achievement in the business of sports. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony May 23.
The other finalists are Dave Brandon (Michigan), Mark Hollis (Michigan State), Jeff Long (Arkansas), and Ian McCaw (Baylor). Last June, Bradshaw was named the 2011 Under Armour FBS Director of Athletics of the Year.
Bradshaw has been at Temple for 10 years, and his most recent achievement was getting the school back into the Big East, this time in all sports. He also has hired football coaches Al Golden and Steve Addazio, along with men's basketball coach Fran Dunphy. Thirty-four Temple teams have advanced to NCAA tournament play during his tenure, while football has participated in a bowl game twice in the last three years.
