South Florida is No. 10 in the AP Top 25 and tied for No. 10 in the coaches' poll, giving the Big East a top 10 team for the first time since West Virginia lost to East Carolina in Week 2.

The Bulls rose all the way to No. 2 last year but then lost three straight.

"Last season, when we were in this situation with a Thursday night game, we went to Rutgers and did not play well," said USF head coach Jim Leavitt. "This is great for our fans, but we as a team have to stay focused on Pitt and do everything we can to give our best effort on Thursday night."

The Big East is back to having two ranked teams, as Connecticut made its debut in both polls. The 5-0 Huskies are No. 24 in the AP poll and No. 23 in the coaches' rankings.
