Former Auburn quarterback Zeke Pike has transferred to Louisville, where he will play tight end.
Pike, a true freshman, was dismissed from Auburn last week. Coach Gene Chizik had suspended Pike indefinitely following an arrest in June on public intoxication charges. Pike, a three-star prospect out of Fort Mitchell, Ky., had enrolled at Auburn in the spring to compete for the starting quarterback job, but was third on the depth chart.
Louisville has some depth at tight end. Starter Nate Nord is the only senior tight end on the roster, though Chris White and Ryan Hubbell are juniors. Plus, the Cardinals do have Florida transfer tight end Gerald Christian. Both he and Pike will be eligible in 2013.
