Pitt suspends six for opener

Paul Chryst laid down the law before his first game as a head coach Saturday, suspending six Pitt players.

Defensive tackle Tyrone Ezell, defensive lineman Shayne Hale, receivers Ronald Jones and Chris Davis, running back Rushel Shell and defensive back Anthony Gonzalez will all miss the Panthers' opener against Youngstown State for disciplinary reasons.

Ezell is the only starter among the group.

Pitt's opener, which was scheduled for a 6 p.m. kick, has been pushed back to 6:30 because of inclement weather.

Star running back Ray Graham, a game-time decision following last year's ACL tear, is warming up, though it is unclear if he will play.

The Panthers will not be wearing names on their jerseys this season, either.
