• West Virginia linebacker Reed Williams had to make a tough decision to shut it down this season and let his shoulders heal, Dave Hickman writes in the Charleston Gazette.

"It was terrible. I've never been through such mental anguish,'' Williams said. "That's probably the hardest decision I've ever had to make in my life, to leave behind guys that I've played with for three years. Mortty [Ivy] is like a brother to me.
