Rutgers defense leading way at Army

Rutgers' defense has shut down the Army triple-option ever since the Black Knights put together a long field-goal drive to open the game, and it's 17-3 at halftime for the Big East visitors at West Point.

The Scarlet Knights also got another non-offensive score when Steve Beauharnais scooped up a blocked punt and ran it in for a touchdown.

But the Rutgers offense still isn't doing much to inspire. The rushing game has produced just 29 yards despite the Scarlet Knights' superior athleticism in this game, and Greg Schiano's team has just 134 total yards at halftime.

I would expect Rutgers to play better offensively in the second half, but it's going to need serious improvement on that side of the ball to compete with the better teams in the Big East.
