Syracuse struggling to put Akron away

Coming off a bye week and going against 1-5 Akron, you would think Syracuse would come out breathing fire today.

Not so much. The Orange lead 14-7 but it would be closer if the Zips hadn't missed a short field goal at the end of the half.

It's not Greg Paulus's fault, as he has completed 7-of-8 passes, albeit for just 82 yards. Running back Delone Carter has two touchdowns, but the offense has gained just six more yards than Akron.

Maybe it's just rust. Syracuse needs to play better in the second half.
