Skip Holtz has been everywhere around the Tampa Bay area since being hired as the South Florida coach. On Wednesday night, he held a town hall-style meeting with fans, answering their questions on a wide variety of topics. (Somehow, I have a hard time picturing Jim Leavitt doing this).

One fan asked about the Bulls' maddening trend the past few years under Leavitt of fading midseason after hot starts. Here's what Holtz said about that.
"That's something we have to look at," Holtz said. "Why does that happen? Is that because we over train? Is that because we're not prepared? Is that because of the level of competition? Is that when we get into the meat of the Big East schedule?

"There are a lot of variables that we have to work out. Are we overworking them on the field? Are we overworking them in the weight room?"

He also reiterated his earlier stance to not have quarterback B.J. Daniels run as much as quarterbacks have run for the Bulls in the past.
"He won't have many called runs. He carried the ball 227 times last year. I don't want to see him do that. We have running backs, and they're on scholarship, too. I'd like to see them earn it."

Holtz will hold another town hall meeting tonight. He's earned a tremendous amount of goodwill from the fan base so far for his openness and candor.
