How hot is that Virginia Tech-Cincinnati matchup in the FedEx Orange Bowl? SportsIllustrated.com's Arash Markazi blogs that tickets can be had for as low as $1 each.
Well, either demand has gone up since Markazi's post or the $1 seats have sold out, because StubHub.com's lowest offer for tickets is $2.50 at the time I write this. The seats are way up in Section 418, but for $10, four people can go to a BCS game. Not bad.
If scalpers were getting no action on the Orange Bowl, I wondered what could possibly be the pricing level for two of the other, lower-tier Big East-affiliated bowls.
The cheapest price on StubHub to the Papajohns.com Bowl, which will be played on a Monday afternoon in lovely (25 years ago) Legion Field is $40. And for the International Bowl, to be played in freezing Toronto on Jan. 3, the cheapest tickets right now are $65.
I think I'd rather spend the $2.50 and go to Miami for the Orange Bowl.
