Big East recruiter of the year
By Andrea Adelson
There are probably a number of good selections for Big East recruiter of the year. Several schools posted terrific classes in what was a solid year for recruiting in the league.
I chose Rutgers coach Kyle Flood for his ability to save the No. 24 recruiting class.
Our friends at ESPN Recruiting Nation gave the nod to Louisville recruiting coordinator Clint Hurtt. Here is what they say about Hurtt:
If the Cardinals are going to challenge for a Big East title in 2012 it will be behind much of the talent Hurtt has pulled from South Florida over the past two seasons. Hurtt was credited with eight commitments, seven of which are Miami-Dade county prospects.
Hurtt stopped by the Big East blog and gave his thoughts on the recruiting class, and briefly talked about his ties to the South Florida area.
Flood picked up an honorable mention, along with Robert Gillespie of West Virginia, Kerry Coombs of Cincinnati and Phil McGeoghan of USF.
