Brendon Kay questionable for Cincinnati
By Matt Fortuna
Brendon Kay is questionable to start at quarterback Friday night when Cincinnati hosts South Florida, coach Butch Jones said during Monday's Big East coaches teleconference.
Kay suffered an injury on his left, non-throwing elbow during Saturday's 10-3 loss to Rutgers, his second career start.
Munchie Legaux will start if Kay can't go.
Kay has started the last two games for the Bearcats, replacing Legaux, and has completed better than 57 percent of his passes for 495 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, adding 117 yards on the ground. He beat Temple and lost to Rutgers.
The fifth-year senior replaced Legaux after Legaux started the season's first eight games, leading Cincinnati to a 6-2 record but having accuracy trouble.
The Bulls, this week's opponent, will start Matt Floyd at quarterback, as coach Skip Holtz said that Bobby Eveld will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a shoulder injury Saturday.
