Big East Heisman Watch: Week 14
By Matt Fortuna
The Big East likely won't send anyone to New York for the Heisman Trophy ceremonyin two weeks. But it's never too early to look ahead to next year's candidates, and the conference could have a front-runner entering the 2013 campaign.
Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville: The sophomore stayed in the thick of things for much of this season. With one game to go, with the Big East title on the line, Bridgewater has a 68.8 completion percentage, 3,189 passing yards, 23 touchdowns and six interceptions this season.
Jawan Jamison, RB, Rutgers: Jamison will also be back next year, and he is also playing for the Big East title this week, against Bridgewater and Louisville. For the season, he has carried the ball 227 times for 1,004 yards and four touchdowns while catching 26 balls for 308 yards and two more scores, though he's been hobbled by an ankle injury as of late.
Adam Muema, RB, San Diego State: Welcome. We'll be seeing much of Muema next year after a sophomore season in which he rushed 211 times for 1,355 yards and 16 touchdowns while catching eight passes for 113 yards and a score. Heisman-worthy? That may be a stretch, but Muema is definitely someone Big East fans should have on their radars upon the Aztecs' entrance to the conference.
