Former Louisville player sues school
By Andrea Adelson
Former Louisville defensive lineman Patrick Grant has sued the school and coach Charlie Strong, alleging he was made to cover up a beating in the locker room by two teammates.
Grant was seriously injured in the attack on Oct. 24, 2010, and nearly lost his left eye. The two teammates who beat him, Jacob and Isaac Geffrad, were later charged with assault and kicked off the team.
Grant also alleges that he lost his scholarship Jan. 4, 2012, in violation of NCAA bylaws. The suit was filed Dec. 21 in Louisville. The school had no comment.
