Louisville finishes season ranked No. 13
By Andrea Adelson
Louisville finished No. 13 in the final AP and coaches' polls released Tuesday morning, putting a cap on its best season since 2006.
The Cardinals (11-2) jumped eight spots in the AP poll and nine in the coaches' poll after throttling Florida 33-23 in the Allstate Sugar Bowl last week. The finish should catapult Louisville into a high ranking in the 2013 preseason poll, perhaps even into the top 10.
Cincinnati, meanwhile, finished ranked No. 22 in the coaches' poll -- the fifth time in six years the Bearcats ended the season ranked in the Top 25. Surprisingly, Cincinnati (10-3) was not ranked in the final AP Top 25. Instead, voters chose to rank Michigan (8-5), which lost to South Carolina in the Outback Bowl. The Wolverines were unranked in the coaches' poll.
