The Norwood era appears to be over at Penn State.
Incoming wide receiver recruit Levi Norwood has been released from his scholarship and won't play for Penn State this fall, FightOnState.com is reporting. Norwood is the younger brother of former Penn State standout wideout Jordan Norwood and the son of former Nittany Lions secondary coach Brian Norwood.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Norwood began high school in State College before finishing up in Waco, Texas, where his father serves as Baylor's defensive coordinator. Levi Norwood selected Penn State without taking any other official visits.
His release opens up another scholarship for the 2011 class. Penn State is still waiting for its first verbal commit for 2011.
