Thursday is the deadline for underclassmen to declare for the NFL draft, and the AFCA Convention ends today. That means our attention will shift largely to recruiting during the next few weeks.
For now, check out what's happening around the league.
- Penn State has lost defensive ends Aaron Maybin and Maurice Evans to the NFL draft. Will line coach Larry Johnson be the next to leave Happy Valley?
- Former St. Louis Rams assistant Jeff Horton is the latest rumored candidate for Minnesota's offensive coordinator vacancy, Kent Youngblood writes in the Star Tribune.
- Former Michigan defensive coordinator Jim Herrmann could be headed for a second go-round in Ann Arbor with Rich Rodriguez, Rivals.com's Tom Dienhart reports.
- Ohio State special teams standout Shaun Lane survived a scary injury at the Fiesta Bowl and remains intent on reaching the NFL, Tim May writes in The Columbus Dispatch.
- Michigan State picked up a commitment from wide receiver/linebacker Dion Sims, who also plans to pay hoops coach Tom Izzo a visit, Tom Markowski writes in The Detroit News.
