We had a little history today in Madison, as No. 11 Wisconsin scored a team record 70 points in crushing Austin Peay.
My quick thoughts:
Wisconsin 70, Austin Peay 3: I guess the Badgers got what they wanted out of this one, as they used a lot of personnel, jumped ahead early and never looked back. I'm continually impressed by freshman running back James White, who had a huge day, rushing for 145 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries. Starter John Clay wasn't bad, either, extending his streak of 100-yard rushing performances (15 carries, 118 yards, TD). Starting quarterback Scott Tolzien left after a spotless two plus quarters of play, and backup Jon Budmayr completed 6 of 7 passes. I'm not sure what we can take away from the game, as Austin Peay was so overmatched, but Wisconsin needed a complete performance and received one.
