Reading is fundamental. 

• Ohio State's Jim Tressel is among the FBS coaches who will visit U.S. troops in the Middle East this spring as part of the Under Armour Coaches Tour, ESPN.com's Ivan Maisel reports. 
• Michigan hopes to reunite quarterback Tate Forcier with his high school backfield mate, 2010 recruit Brennan Clay, Josh Helmholdt writes in the Detroit Free Press. 
• Former Ohio State running back turned prison blogger Maurice Clarett remains a hot-button topic, The Columbus Dispatch's Bob Hunter writes in his blog. 
• Wisconsin did the right thing by creating a new position for former wide receivers coach Henry Mason, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Jeff Potrykus writes in his blog. 

I've been around UW athletics since the spring of 1995, Mason's first year at UW, and I've never heard anyone, on or off the record, criticize Mason.

In these days in which everyone has an axe to grind, that's rare and refreshing. UW was wise to create a new position, even in these difficult economic times, for Mason. The move was wise and humane. You don't discard a quality person/coach who has given so much to the program.
