Wisconsin's injury report entering spring practice looks more like a Post-it and less like a phone book, as it did a year ago, but there are some names who remain hobbled.

I caught up with Badgers head coach Bret Bielema today -- check Wednesday's blog for a full Q&A -- and he said reserve running back Bradie Ewing and reserve safety Kevin Claxton likely will miss spring ball after undergoing offseason surgeries.

Ewing, a sophomore, appeared in 12 games last season and had four carries for 14 yards and a touchdown. Claxton, a sophomore, appeared in nine games last fall and recorded five tackles.

"Other than that, we should get guys back, at least in some modified form, for most of spring ball," Bielema said.

Wisconsin endured a wave of injuries heading into spring ball last year, as starters like tight end Travis Beckum, defensive tackle Jason Chapman and cornerbacks Aaron Henry and Allen Langford sat out practice.

Henry couldn't make it back from a knee injury last year but will be on the field March 24, when the Badgers open spring drills.
