Iowa quarterback Ricky Stanzi has emerged as the leader for Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, although there's a long way to go and plenty of others in the mix. I really hope Purdue's Ryan Kerrigan doesn't get Brandon Graham-ed for Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. Graham, in my view, was the Big Ten's best defensive player last year but didn't get the credit he deserved because he played for a losing team. Kerrigan is a stud, and he deserves to be recognized despite Purdue's struggles.

Meanwhile, the Freshman of the Year race is tightening as Illinois' Nathan Scheelhaase put himself very much in the mix.
