Michigan meets with Miles in Baton Rouge

Michigan officials met Monday night with LSU coach Les Miles in Baton Rouge to discuss U-M's head-coaching vacancy, but it's unclear whether or not the process will be accelerated.

Colleague Pat Forde reports that the private plane carrying Michigan officials left Louisiana without Miles on board.

A bad sign? Too soon to tell.

A source tells colleague Joe Schad that if offered the Michigan job, Miles would accept. Michigan is willing to ante up for its next coach, and Miles could expect an offer of more than $4 million a year.

WFAB TV in Baton Rouge reports that Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon and two others met with Miles on Monday.

If things don't work out with Miles, expect Michigan to turn its focus to San Diego State's Brady Hoke.

The Hat dance is getting interesting. We'll see where this goes Tuesday.
