While I was stopping for a quick bite at Cousins Subs and driving home, Wisconsin head coach Bret Bielema sent out an encouraging tweet about starting left tackle Gabe Carimi, who injured his right knee in Tuesday's practice.
"Good news after practice with Gabe Carimi he has a mild knee [injury] that will keep him out for less than two weeks."
That's excellent news for Carimi since the injury looked a lot worse at first. The junior appeared to be in a lot of pain after sustaining the injury during the two-minute drill portion of practice. He needed to be helped off the field and had the knee heavily wrapped.
Wisconsin doesn't have much depth at tackle and is already practicing without two starting offensive linemen (center John Moffitt and guard Bill Nagy). This will be a good opportunity to get redshirt freshman Ricky Wagner some work at left tackle.
