We've reached the No. 20 in the Big Ten preseason player rankings, which based on past performance and potential impact for 2011. You don't want to get into a weight-lifting contest with ...

No. 20: John Simon, DL, Ohio State, Jr., 6-2, 270

2010 numbers: Registered 41 tackles, including 8.5 for loss and three sacks, plus two fumble recoveries in 13 games.

Why he's here: The Buckeyes are looking for some new stars on the defensive side, and it's a good bet that Simon will blossom into just that this season. Renowned for his ridiculous numbers in the weight room, Simon is more than just a strongman; he developed into a disruptive presence in his first season of starting in 2010. He'll likely spend some time at both defensive end and defensive tackle this season. He has explosive speed for his size and has all the skills needed to be the next great member of the Silver Bullets.
