I'd like to report that the Penn State offense has been liberated from the Alabama defense and is responding well today at Temple.
Unfortunately, that's not the case. The Nittany Lions have had two possessions and have only a missed field goal to show for it. Rob Bolden started again for Penn State, whose first drive was thwarted by two big Temple hits on Bolden, the second of which resulted in a fumble.
The Owls looked like the more physical, confident offense while driving in for a score on their first possession. Meanwhile, Bolden has made a couple of nice throws but has also misfired on a few attempts, including missing an open wideout on third down.
Long way to go, but not an encouraging start so far for Joe Paterno, who again is up in the press box for today's game.
