Kirk Ferentz made a few personnel changes in an effort to help a defense that struggled last week against Iowa State.
But so far, at least, it hasn't been enough. Pitt leads 10-0 late in the first quarter, and it's just as one-sided as the score indicates. Pitt has 158 yards to just 52 for Iowa, including a 66-yard touchdown pass from Tino Sunseri to Devin Street on a broken Hawkeyes coverage.
James Vandenberg has also thrown an interception for Iowa, which is trying to avoid its second straight loss.
The Hawkeyes have had trouble in the past containing high-tempo spread offenses, including last week in Ames. They look slow against Pitt's "High Octane" attack so far. They'd better find some answers fast if they want to avoid a disastrous September start.
