Michigan is moving on up.

The 5-0 Wolverines are ranked No. 12 in the latest Associated Press poll and are 11th in the new USA Today coaches' poll. The team was never ranked that high under Rich Rodriguez and hasn't sniffed this kind of real estate since starting off the 2007 season as a Top 10 team. Is Michigan really this good? We could start to find out this week when Brady Hoke's team makes its first road trip of the season.

Wisconsin is No. 5 in both polls, and the Badgers even received a No. 1 vote in the coaches poll. Would love to know which coach picked Wisconsin No. 1, but the coaches do not reveal their votes until the end of the season.

Illinois, at 5-0, is up to No. 19 in the AP poll and No. 16 in the coaches' rankings. Like Michigan, the Illini make their first road trip of the season this week at Indiana.

After Saturday's 48-17 loss to Wisconsin, Nebraska tumbled to 14th in the AP and 15th in the coaches' poll. The Huskers were eighth in both rankings last week.

Michigan State climbed to No. 20 in the coaches' rankings, but not enough AP voters are impressed by the Spartans. They're the first team out of the AP Top 25 , 32 voted behind No. 25 Baylor.

Penn State is 33rd in the AP poll and 30th in the coaches' rankings. Iowa received five votes from the coaches.
