Minnesota has awarded scholarships to two walk-ons, fullback Jon Hoese and defensive back Bryan Klitzke.

"Jon and Bryan are examples of the kinds of student-athletes we want in our football program," head coach Tim Brewster said in a statement. "They do the right things on the field, in the classroom and in the community. I couldn’t be more pleased to reward both of these guys for their hard work, dedication and loyalty to the Gopher football program."

And really, with names like Hoese and Klitzke, these two deserve to be on scholarship at Minnesota. Excellent football names.

Hoese obviously plays a big role in Minnesota's new offensive scheme, serving as the team's starting fullback. The 6-2, 233-pound junior moved to fullback from safety last year and scored two touchdowns in the Insight Bowl against Kansas.
