The Urban Meyer buzz has reached a fever pitch, as reports are streaming in seemingly every day stating that the former Florida coach has agreed to take over Ohio State's program.
But there's no done deal, according to Meyer, currently an ESPN analyst.
Here's a statement Meyer gave to ESPN about his future.
"I have not been offered any job nor is there a deal in place. I plan on spending Thanksgiving with my family and will not comment on this any further."
WKMG-TV in Orlando is reporting Meyer has agreed in principle to become Ohio State's coach. Sources tell the station Meyer will keep Buckeyes head coach Luke Fickell on staff as his assistant head coach. Florida strength coach Mickey Marotti also reportedly will join Meyer as Ohio State's director of football operations.
Again, no done deal at this point. As we've reported, there's strong interest on both sides. Don't expect anything official to be announced until after the weekend. Ohio State wouldn't want to make any sort of announcement while Fickell is still head coach, which he will be Saturday at Michigan.
